Extruded
Extrusion is a hot metal process of shaping aluminium through a tool or “die”. Both the billet and the die are heated before the billet is pushed through the die by a ram. From this point the aluminium must be cooled, straightened, quenched, and then cut. At this stage its in a soft form commonly referred to as T4. Its then hardened in an oven at around 180 degrees for 8 hours.
